…and I don’t mean hot weather. It was so chilly overnight and in the morning that when I woke up, the heat had come on in our house! Ridiculous! It’s mid-June, just a few days away from the official start of summer, but the weather around our neck of the NJ woods seems to be stuck in early April. At this point, I’m with to T.S. Eliot when he wrote, “April is the cruelest month.” This has been the rainiest, coldest spring I can remember. So-o-o-o-o depressing!
Thus far, we’ve been able to dine al fresco on our patio exactly once — lunch right after we came back from our first strawberry picking. It was one of the all-too-few warm, sunny days.
The only upside is that we’ve saved a bundle on our water bill. We haven’t had to use our sprinkler system at all because the rain has kept things green and blooming.
