This Day in History: “…a date which will live in infamy…”

Pearl Harbor Attack

Today is the 75th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. On December 7, 1941, I wasn’t born yet. Michael was 10 months old.

The next day, FDR addressed Congress beginning his speech with those historic words, and the US formally entered WWII.

For various reasons, neither my dad nor his were in the military during the war. However, my dad’s younger brother, my beloved Uncle Sam, was an Army soldier posted in Europe but not in a combat unit.
